Spanish Courses in Escazú

Escazu is positioned 9 kilometres to the West of Costa Rica's capital city, San Jose. The city actually comprises of 3 villages; San Raphael, San Miguel and San Antonio.

San Raphael is situated at the lowest level of the 3 villages with San Miguel, which is also known as Escazu Central, a bit further up the mountain side and then at the top sits San Antonio. If you explore all of the villages you will discover that each and every one possesses a very different character and personality than the next.

Along the roadside leading into San Raphael from San Jose are numerous commercial businesses including familiar names such as Pizza Hut and McDonald's. San Raphael boasts 2 meat markets, 3 supermarkets and several banks.

There is a cinema housing 2 screens and a shopping mall called Multiplaza. The mall has many stores offering jewellery, clothing and home ware items. There is an 8 screen cinema complex in the Multiplaza.

San Miguel has more of a community atmosphere about it than such a commercial feeling as San Raphael. There are several smaller shops and fine restaurants, the locals are especially friendly and very down to earth. The Pub is, surprisingly enough, a pub where you will discover delicious meals, drinks and entertainment most nights.

Then you come to San Antonio at the top of the mountain; the panoramic views down over Central Valley below are breathtaking. The one difference with San Antonio is that you can actually really feel the 'farming' way of life, do not be alarmed to observe an ox pulling a cart along full of sugar cane.
