One of the most popular Spanish courses at the Academia Tica Jaco Beach is the main group course. This is a general course in the Spanish language and consists of lessons throughout the mornings leaving the afternoons free for the students to go and explore or to simply relax.
There are 20 lessons held each week and they are 50 minutes long, the classes are kept to the maximum of 6 students as this is regarded as a much fairer method as each individual student can receive personal assistance if they require it. The general course offers 6 levels of Spanish ranging from the beginner right through to the advanced.
The contents of the general Spanish course include speaking, reading, listening, grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary expression. There are also private lessons available if this option is preferred by students; these lessons also run for 50 minutes and students take between 10 and 30 each week.
There is a lounge open to students to use in the reception area, a small reference library, a multimedia room complete with computers and a fast internet connection and a small cafeteria.
