The school houses spacious multimedia classrooms, an internet cafe, a large common room and a sunny terrace. It was founded in the year 1996 and all the teachers are native speakers and are not just present at the school to teach Spanish but also to teach the students about the Peruvian culture and way of life.
Students take a placement test upon their arrival in both oral and written form to ascertain the best suited class to their requirements. There is a welcoming dinner held at the school for all new students to attend. All education materials are supplied and there are 4 levels of Spanish taught at the Amauta Peru Spanish School.
The levels are for beginners, intermediates, advanced and superior students. The school's method of teaching often involves excursions to local markets, hospitals and schools just to allow the students to be placed into a situation where they have to use what they have already learnt and converse in the Spanish language.
