Studying Spanish in Sucre

Sucre houses many historical sights and buildings including Casa de la Libertad this is a museum but was initially the house where the Bolivian declaration of independence was signed in the year 1825 on the 6th of August. This fascinating museum also houses portraits of famous presidents and military decorations.

If you are feeling hungry then take a stroll around Central Market. There are some delicious fruit salads and refreshing juices to enjoy along with tasty light snacks.

For pure and untouched beauty visit the Iglesia de la Merced, this is a church constructed no later than the year 1580. The interior of the building is said to be the most stunningly beautiful of any building throughout the country of Bolivia. The alter and the carved pulpit are adorned with gold filigree and a golden inlay. If you have the energy it is well worth a trip to the bell tower as the views reaching out over the city of Sucre are truly stunning.

There are some fine eating establishments situated throughout the city including the Bibliocafe restaurant. This has an outstanding reputation and is set over two adjacent locations, on the one side you have a dark and romantic setting and on the other side it is more upbeat and open. They offer some delicious pasta based dishes and an array of Mexican and Bolivian food.

Sucre is the perfect setting to study the Spanish language in with its pretty towns and cities and plentiful culture and art.
